Our Programs

Informed
& Relevant
Learning Programs

At Macedon Early Learning Centre we understand children begin their learning journey from the moment they are born and the first eight years of a child’s life is considered fundamental in establishing core values, sense of identity, and self-worth. We believe parents and families are the first educator and our role as Educators is to facilitate a collaborative and supportive approach throughout your child’s developmental and learning journey.

Our educational philosophies are under-pinned by the widely respected Reggio Emilia approach to learning which supports enquiry and play-based learning opportunities in natural and responsive environments. Our learning programs are designed to be emergent in nature and, through reflective practices, are guided by the children’s interests and needs.

Our learning programs are informed by the following two approved learning frameworks:

National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) which is based on the fundamental belief that children’s lives are characterised as “Belonging, Being and Becoming”.

Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF) which identifies five learning outcomes for children that we strive toward:

  • Children have a strong sense of identity (IDENTITY)
  • Children are connected with and contribute to their world (COMMUNITY)
  • Children have a strong sense of wellbeing (WELLBEING)
  • Children are confident and involved learners (LEARNING)
  • Children are effective communicators (COMMUNICATION)

To further extend on your child’s learning we also facilitate regular intentional teaching experiences such as:

  • Music and Movement
  • Water Safety
